Learning through play

Our education program is informed by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guide and the Early Years Learning Framework and provides children the opportunity to learn through play.  We believe that learning is a collaborative process between teachers, parents and children.

At Shailer Road Kindy our Teachers and Educators are passionate about ensuring every child’s developmental needs are supported in an environment which promotes their independence, self-confidence and overall sense of well-being.

Kindy Class Information

    • Five-day fortnight from 8.45am – 2.45pm.
    • ALL groups attend 600 hours of kindergarten per year.

Daily Routines

The kindy day may begin with group time when everyone joins in to plan their day.  Classes will then either go to outdoor or inside play.  Each day follows flexible learning but will generally include a story time, music and movement and a rest time in the afternoons (note, children are not required to sleep, we will help children learn how to relax).  Food is provided by you; we encourage a healthy morning tea and lunch packed into one lunchbox.
