When should i enrol my child?
This table shows the year the Queensland government recommends your child attends kindergarten. Children aged 4 years old by June 30 in the year they attend kindy are also called ‘Eligible age’ or ‘Target age’.

When will i know when my child has a place at shailer road kindy?
We start to enrol children from our waiting list the year before kindy starts and continue as places become available during the year. We normally send enrolment offers in May / June the year prior to your child beginning kindy.
are children in the pre-kindy program automatically offered a place in the kindergarten?
Yes! Our pre-kindy program was created to assist children to transition into the kindy program the following year.
When can my child start pre-kindy?
Children can begin pre-kindy once they have turned 3 and are toilet trained.
How much does kindy cost?
The Queensland State Government has committed increased funding for Kindergarten in 2023 and beyond. Please contact us for more information regarding fees.
Low or no cost kindergarten is available to Health Care Card holders and families who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
