Our Staff
Our staff are dedicated professionals. All staff working in our centre will have a positive notice, more commonly referred to as a Blue Card, a current senior first aid and a CPR certificate.
Our qualified teachers are trained to observe all areas of your child’s development and then make use of these observations to plan a program to meet the needs of each child. The teachers are responsible for the day-to-day planning and implementation of the educational program. This program refers to all experiences covered including working with children and parents.
Director:
The Director is responsible for all aspects of the effective day-to-day operation of the centre. The Director’s primary responsibilities include; supporting families by providing high quality education and care, overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum, implementing sound policies and high quality practices and supporting and managing of staff.
Early Childhood Teacher:
C&K Community Kindergartens employ University qualified early childhood teachers who are registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. The early childhood teacher develops and implements an educational program based on the Building Waterfalls curriculum in collaboration with children and families. Programme information is explained through newsletters, documentation found in classrooms, portfolios and meetings. If you have any questions or concerns about the programme or your child’s development please discuss them with your teacher. Other concerns may be addressed to the Director.
Assistant:
Assistants work with a specific group of children, supporting the teacher in implementing the care and education program. All of our assistants hold an early childhood certificate/qualification.
Inclusion Support Assistant:
Sometimes an additional needs assistant is employed to help facilitate the inclusion of a child with additional needs into the environment. The additional needs assistant works in cooperation with the Teacher and Assistant, and may hold a variety of qualifications including an early childhood certificate or human services qualification.
Administration officer:
Looks after our bookkeeping, banking, payroll, fees and receipts for parents. Orders equipment and consumables. Liaises with the Treasurer to provide the Management Committee with monthly financial statements. Prepares monthly BAS and quarterly QKFS funding applications. Manages the Kindergarten’s waiting list. Prepares annual reports for the auditor.
Student teachers/work experience
We recognise the importance of student placements. It is consistent with the long-term training of potential teachers as providers of quality education and care for children. Students are supervised both by our Kindergarten staff, and by University staff, TAFE staff or teachers from their school. All work experience people who volunteer at our Centre will hold a child suitability blue card.
However we only accept student placements after considering the needs of our Kindergarten children at the time.
Cleaner
The Kindergaten is cleaned on a daily basis by a contract cleaner.
