Inclusion Policy
As the Centre embraces diversity the following practices are embedded in the educational programs offered. Children with additional needs are included in the educational program with the support of an Inclusion Support Assistant.
· Following a meeting with the parent and child, the manager, together with the parent/s, will collaborate to make program plans and modifications where appropriate.
· The Director will communicate with the C&K early childhood consultant in order to make an appropriate decision regarding funding requirements and any environmental alterations required.
· The centre will arrange appropriate additional support and training for the staff, families and children as the need arises.
· The sharing of information between the teaching team and the child’s medical and support services is encouraged in order to support the child’s total inclusion.
Children from all countries, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are valued equally and respected for their individual and cultural needs.
